An introduction to mountain living and horseback riding in on a scenic 3,500 acre Western ranch!
ITINERARY
Day 1: Learn to Ride like a Cowboy! You move into our comfortable walkin outfitter tents where you will find a four inch foam bed with clean sheets and a pillow. We spend the rest of the day learning to ride like a cowboy through open range and wooded highlands enjoying the scenery and wildlife as we ride. You will be matched with a horse suitable to your own riding ability. After a day in the saddle, you will learn how to put your horse and tack away until you ride again. Be sure and look at our recommended Packing List.
Day 2: Wake up to a hearty breakfast and steaming cowboy coffee. The day continues with instruction in the art of rock-climbing. Your fears resolved, you’ll discover the fun of climbing and rappelling while challenging yourself on one of our many routes. Gather in the evening around the campfire and share stories with your newly found friends.
Day 3: The adventure continues on a mountain hike. We will see glorious views of the Wet Mountain Valley, wild flowers, rock formations and possibly some wild life. We may go to high mountain lake or to the top of a peak – whatever challenge level you desire. That evening we’ll return to camp to relax around the fire, in the sauna, or play a game of volleyball or horseshoes.
Day 4: You learn to groom and saddle your horse for another day of horseback riding. As your confidence improves you’ll be able to stretch your skills. You may be trotting through one of many groves of quaking aspen trees, barrel racing, or riding to the top of scenic Grouse Mountain. Enjoy a trailside lunch and some of nature’s finest views. This is the perfect opportunity to polish and improve your riding skills. Since this is your last night in camp, you may want to try the sweat lodge.
Day 5: Today is the great whitewater experience! An early departure and a panoramic drive takes you to the Arkansas River, the m
